Blanche Metzger Obituary
(Patricia)
Rochester: Friday, July 4, 2008. Beloved mother and devoted grandmother, wife, aunt and friend. A kind and selfless spirit, Blanche peacefully left this life for the next. Predeceased by her husband, Jack. Survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Barbara Metzger; John and Sheila Metzger; daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Michael Potter; grandchildren, Ty and Kissa Metzger; Daniel and Jeffrey Metzger; Adam, Lucas and Monica Potter; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Hildebrandt Hospice for their care and devotion to Blanche and her family, with special thanks to Kim and Bill.
Family and Friends may call Thursday 3-8 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 9:30 AM at Holy Cross Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626 in her memory. I have fond memories of Mrs. Metzger sitting up in the stands with my mother at Lakeshore Rinks and RIT, watching BK Hockey games & trying to stay warm. I can still see her warm, friendly smile. My deepset sympathies to all the Metzger family.
