Herbert King Obituary
Ontario, NY: Died on July 2nd at age 83 in Tavares, Florida. He is predeceased by his wife Ida Mae (Kurtz). Is survived by son Scott (Nancy) King & daughter Robin (Neil) Schmidt; grandchildren, Bob & Jerry King and Spenser (Jamie), Devon & Tucker Schmidt all of Ontario, NY; and companion Anne VanSchaack of Eustis, Florida.
Herb was born in Kremis, PA and grew up in Elyria, OH. Then moving to Erie, PA , he served in WWII and graduated from Gannon College. It is there that he started his career with IBM. After a 25 year career, he retired from IBM while in Poughkeepsie, NY. He spent his retirement years traveling between Florida and New York.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Herb King is planned for Saturday, July 19th at 11:00am at Walworth United Methodist Church in Walworth, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Walworth United Methodist Church, 3679 Walworth Palmyra Rd. Walworth, NY 14568.
