Catherine Herbert Obituary

Herbert, Catherine J.
West Deptford, NJ: She was one hip mom and grandmom: she loved cruising around in her Sebring with the top down, tuned in to Q102. Her favorite times were when she would pal around with her daughter: if you added a few Long Island Ice Teas she'd be the life of the party. She had a soft spot for NASCAR, especially Bobby Labonte and liked to kill time playing Free Cell and Hidden Objects on her laptop. More serious times found her working as a Pricing Administration Specialist at VWR in West Chester, PA.
In bowling league she never picked up a 7-10 split, but she did meet a man named Jon. They married and settled in West Deptford. She is survived by two children: Jennifer Zanes (Darren) and Jeffrey; granddaughter and shopping buddy, Jenica; twin sister, Caroline Ulrich (Gary) and siblings, Joyce Linehan (Jerry), Raymond Schneider Jr. (Denise), and Ronald Schneider (Clare), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Come celebrate 61 great years Wednesday, 4:00-6:45 P.M. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, 1518 Kings Highway, Swedesboro, NJ, where there will be a service at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations to Arc of Gloucester County, 1040 North Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094, or American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, will be appreciated.

Dear Jon,

Age and distance kept me from knowing Cathy as well as I could have, but you and I my friend, go back 45 years. I cannot imagine the sorrow of losing a brother and a wife within six months. Truly my heart goes out to you and your family. I pray that God's grace will comfort you, especially during these incredibly difficult days. I will offer you a paraphrase of my favorite eulogy, written by a Chicago sportswriter on the passing of Vince Lombardi.
"God must be in a lot of trouble if he needs Cathy Herbert"
