Mr. Flack was born on January 23, 1936, in Oswego, NY, the son of William McKinley and Marion (Beley) Flack. On April 22, 1957, he married Donna Mae Wright in Oswego.
He was educated at the State College at Oswego, where he received a B.S. in Industrial Arts Education, and the University of Maryland at College Park, where he earned a M.Ed. in Industrial Education.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, CVA-11, stationed in the Mediterranean from 1958 to 1960.
From 1960 to 1966, Bill worked as Assistant Director of the Education Council of the Graphic Arts in Washington, D.C., and then as Assistant Education Director of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation in New York City and Pittsburgh, PA. Bill spent most of his career at the Eastman Kodak Company (1966-1991), starting as a sales development staff member and ending as Director of Personnel Relations, Corporate Staffs. Bill was also a member of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, and the Century Boat Club.
Bill's many hobbies and interests included taking flying lessons, golfing, boating, and cross-country skiing. He most enjoyed building and fixing things, and especially maintaining his two old wooden boats, a 1959 Chris Craft and a 1939 Century. Bill was very proud that the Century won numerous awards at boat shows throughout the northeastern U.S. He was known among family and friends as an amateur artist, painting rural scenes in oils that were based on his own photography, at which he was also an accomplished amateur.
