Josephine Stead Obituary
Fairport: July 18, 2008 after a short illness. Predeceased by her husband, S. Geoffrey Stead, M.D. Survived by her children, S. Matthew (Latha) Stead, M.D. and Lorna (Christopher) Affronti, Esq.; brother, Jim (Eve) Rowe of England; mother-in-law, Eileen Stead of England; sister-in-law, Elaine Beech of England; grandchildren, Thor, Tej,Trilock, Khartick, Clarice, Sebastian, Juliet and Benjamin and numerous relatives abroad.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jo's life at the Country Club of Rochester, 2935 East Avenue (corner of East and Elmwood Avenue) on Friday, July 25, 2008 from Noon until 2:00 P.M. A brief service will begin promptly at 12:15 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jo's honor may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.

I cannot believe she is gone. She is an enormous influence on my life, and I have always loved her. I will always cherish the memory of this independent and, most of all, fun woman. She knew how to live!

Janice and I (an old school friend of Geoff's) were devastated to hear of Jo's passing. Our memories of her were of someone so full of life and who overcome tragedy with a great deal fortitude. Our sincere condolescences to the family.
