Robert Walsh Obituary
Irondequoit. Born August 26, 1917 and entered into rest July 22, 2008 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his sisters, Jean Walsh and Edith Manley; niece, Megan Manley. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary C. Walsh; children, Daniel (Marcia), Patrick (Kathie), Thomas Ed.D. (Elaine), Dr. Robert (Twila), Stephen (Gay) Walsh, Jean Brennan and John (Shelley Cartier) Walsh; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kent) Jeffries-Webb, Katie Brennan, Matthew, Courtney, Robert, Daniel, Jack, Andrew, Kagan and Kerry Walsh; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jordan Webb; honorary grandchildren, Douglas and Rebecca Maxwell; nieces, Moira (Bob Ewert) Fry and Diedra Jackson.
Bob was a chemical engineer at Kodak retiring in 1983 after 33 years of service. He was a retired Major in the U. S. army serving in the European Theater in the 328th Fighter squadron and the 352nd Group as an Intelligence Officer receiving 3 Campaign Ribbons, 1 American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was a founder of Christ the King Church and a life long member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and Legion of Mary. His interests included scouting, musical theater, square dancing, traveling abroad, baking, golfing and visiting family.
The family wishes to extend a warm thank you to the staff and caregivers at St. Ann's Home, 7th floor especially "his Mary" and to Lifetime Care Hospice especially Cindy, Audrey and Marge for their support and guidance in his last weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Angel Fund at St. Ann's Nursing Home, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621 or a charity of your choice.

My prayers and sympathy to Mary and to all the Walsh family. I am sorry I was not able to be with you at the funeral. It has been a joy and privelege to have known Bob. He was a great man.
