John Cannan Obituary

Cannan, John J. "Jack"
Irondequoit: Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the age of 91. Loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away peacefully in his sleep. He joins his loving wife of 66 years, Corinne Cannan. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific Theater, a retiree of Kodak, inventor and was an accomplished photographer. He is survived by his children, John Cannan, Dennis (Carol) Cannan and Susan (Stephen) Curtice; 6 loving grandchildren, Charles, Jacob and Travis Cannan, Sarah and Spencer Curtice and Stephanie (Joe) Steimer; brothers-in-law, Roy (Trudy) and Don Topel; nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends Saturday 1:00-3:00pm at the funeral home followed by his Memorial Service at 3:00pm. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VA Voluntary Service at Canandaigua VA Medical Center, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424, (585) 393-7761.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I have fond memories of your mom and dad. I would see them out from time to time and we would always talk about the neighborhood and how each of you were doing.

I remember Uncle Jack when I was a young kid. He was always the one snapping the pictures. He was a great man and will be sadly missed.. But I know how happy he must be to be back with Aunt Corrine.. God Bless th Cannan family!!!!
