Bob, and family...I am so saddened to hear of your passing at such a young age. I did not have the opportunity to meet you. But living in the Twin Cities, I saw your broadcasts.
One thing i know for sure is that you were well-loved, no doubt by your family members, but also by Tiffany. Tiffany is one of the most special people in this world. Knowing that the two of you were together, I am so sorry for the collective loss of you and Tiffany of your love together on this earth. God bless you.

I had not seen Bob in many years, but was always glad to hear of his successes. I have fond memories of working with him at Channel 13, and of his uncommon kindness toward others. My sympathies to the family. Bob was given special mention at the the Channel 13 reunion just last night - many people are saying a prayer for him this Sunday morning.

Bob Will truly be missed here in Minneapolis. I had the honor to exchange emails with him a year ago and he was a down to earth person. He lived life to the fullest in his short time with us. May his memories live on within his family and friends.

"Aunt Mary Ellen", my condolences to you and your entire family. Although it had been a very long time since I'd seen "Bobby", I remember all of the fun times Bobby, Robin, and I had as kids. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Stephanie

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob over 20 years ago. He and my husband Kevin Ussia were great friends. I always thought of Bob as the gentle giant. He was the kindest, humblest person I have ever known. Whenever Bob was in Rochester, he would always make sure he'd stop for a visit. I made sure I had fresh sauce on for him, he enjoyed it every time. Before we married, Kevin and I went to Kentucky, Ohio and Philly to see Bob, he was happy in all those places, but after seeing so much written about him from Minnesota, I do believe that was his happiest home. The world has lost a wonderful soul and I still can't believe that this has happened. Bob will always be in our hearts and minds. My deepest sympathy to Mary Ellen and Robin and to all of the Rainey family. God Bless you all.
Bob will be missed beyond words.

The couple from Hopkins, Minnesota took the words from right out of my mouth. I liked Bob's style from the very start of his presence here in Minneapolis. When he started losing weight, it never occured to me that he was ill. I'm sorry he had to leave us so soon.

Our deepest sympathy to the Rainey family in your loss. We never personally knew your son and brother, but we could sense thru the tv screen that Bob was a good, smart, warm and friendly man. His knowledge of sports and his enthusiaism for all sports, especially the MN Vikings, was obvious. The Minneapols/St Paul tv sports scene will not be the same without him. We were lucky to have had him in our city.
Bob Rainey was a "class act."
Sincerely,
Fred Knauf

I can't believe this, as I was just thinking of Bob on Monday. I went to BK with Bob & can only say that he was a great friend and person - both in the classrooms and on the football field. We lost touch after high school, but I never forgot his warm smile and friendly approach to me....even through all those years.
My deepest sympathies to all the Rainey family. May you be warmed by knowing that Bob's soul will be welcomed by our God.
