Ducky, Louise and Rudy,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. My visit to Meridian several months ago was brightened by visiting you and your wonderful mother. She was so beautiful that afternoon and I so enjoyed our long conversation. She will be so missed by not only her family but the many people who were fortunate enough to know her.
Sadly,

What a gift we were given to have Mrs. Matzner as such an important part of our lives! She didn't just touch my life, she molded it. She didn't just teach me to play the piano, she taught me how to create the music. Jimmy joins me in celebrating the life of this most wonderful woman.

Mrs. Matzner was a beautiful lady and an accomplished musician. Growing up in Central with her at the organ and taking piano lessons from her were very special times in my life. I'll always remember her constant smile.

How I treasure our long friendship beginning many years ago when we were part of the choir at Temple Beth Israel. How grateful I am for the musical education she gave my Sidney and Joyce and the example she always was to them (and me). What a friend! WHAT A LADY!

What a beautiful spirit Mrs. Matzner had. I always thought of her as my "other" mother while she taught me piano for 11 years. She was such a delight to be around. I will cherish the good memories. I pray for strength and comfort for the family.

What a blessing Aunt Virginia was in my life! Always quick with a smile, a kind word, a soft caress. I'll always have wonderful memories of the kitchen table with its giant lazy susan, watermelon in the back yard, the sight of 2 grand pianos in the living room, a house full of laughter and music. I will miss you terribly.

I was sorry to hear of Mrs. Matzner's death because I held on to the wonderful memories of growing up across the street from you all and the fun we all had. Her laughter was a gift we all shared and how she could play the organ on Sun. morning at Central Methodist, then go home and fry chicken, I'll never know! It was one of the best meals I remember, as well!
I know Jo and Suzie join me in our condolences to you all. If we could be there for the funeral, it would truly be a reunion and a celebration of her life.
Please give our love and comfort to everyone. Our prayers are with you.
