Douglas Armstrong Obituary

Armstrong, Douglas E.
Palmyra: 83, died on Fri., Aug. 15, 2008. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-9pm on Mon., Aug. 18th at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. Funeral services will be at 11am on Tues., Aug. 19th at the First Baptist Church in Palmyra. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Doug may be directed to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Rd., Victor, NY 14564, or to First Baptist Church of Palmyra, 100 W. Main St., Palmyra, NY 14522.
Douglas was born on March 13, 1925, in Russell County, Ontario, Canada. He and the former Vonnie Moke were married on July 17, 1947, in Canada. Doug was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palmyra and had owned and operated the Palmyra Western Auto Bike and Scout Shop for many years.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his daughter Julie (Randy) Bowden of Newark; son Steven (Janet) Armstrong of Shortsville; brother Carl (Eleanor) Armstrong; sisters-in-law Grace and Iva Moke and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Vonnie on January 30, 2007, and seven siblings.
