Salvatore Mingoea Obituary
Gates: Suddenly, Friday, August 15, 2008, at age 72. Predeceased by his father, Joseph "Bingo" Mingoea; sister, Teresa A. Tyler; brother-in-law, Jack Burke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sue Gruttadauria Mingoea; loving children, Joseph Mingoea, Ann Marie (Dan) Fenclau, Michael (Jolene) Mingoea; adored grandchildren, Jamie (Adam) Clark, Gina (Nick) Griffee, Julie Mingoea, Kyle & Lauren Fenclau, Salvatore, Annessa & Grace Mingoea; dear great-grandson, Joey Griffee; mother, Louise Mingoea; sister, Josephine Burke; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl Tyler, Shirley & Richard Kearns of NV; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Sal was a Marine Corps veteran during the Korean era, a retiree of Eastman Kodak, an active member of Kiwanis West Central & a die-hard Yankees fan.
Friends may call TUESDAY ONLY 3:00-8:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Wednesday, August 20, friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Jude Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kiwanis West Central or a charity of your choice in his memory.

I was shocked to learn of Sal's passage. Sal and I worked at Kodak's Hawkeye plant circa 1965-1975. He was not only a most competent co-worker, he was a joy to work with...a rare combination. We "reconnected" via e-mail a couple of years ago after not hearing from each other for about 30 years. Sal will be sorely missed by his family and his many, many friends.

Sue, Mike and family--Jean and I are at a loss for words to express our sadness at Sal's passing. So entirely unexpected! We had such a fantastic relationship over the years beginning in the 60's at Kodak, and extending into retirement with the Knapp Golf Tournament. Dear Mingoea Family,
I used to work with Sal at Kodak a loooong time ago. Sal used to dress up as an elf (Santas helper) every year and hand out candy canes. He was such a warm and caring man. Always so respectful and nice. It's been many years since those days of Kodak, but I remember Sal so fondly. I am so sorry for your loss.
