Dear Linda and
I am so sorry to hear about Jerry. I just learned about his being called home to God late this eve. Unfortunately because of a health appointment, I will not be able to attend his funneral services tomorrow.
I first met Jerry at the Len Hawley's Dances on Friday Evenings at the Sheridan Hotel on East Avenue in 1962. He would dance ball room dances with me each Friday eve and also teach me the steps he was learning at ballroom dance classes and then we would practice them at the dance. He was an excellent teacher and dancer. We remained friends but unfortunately we lost contact with each through the years. I had been wondering recently what he was doing now but did not know how to contact him.
I will always remember how he could just sit down at our baby grand piano and play such beautiful music. Also one evening he brought his violin with him and he played very beautiful music for me and my family. He was so very musically talented.
We were also friends in the St. Thomas More Club. On some of their outings he displayed his swimming and diving abilities which were just wonderful. His talents were God's wonderful works of art. He was so wonderlfully skilled in so many ways and he was so very brilliant.
Through him I did meet Linda once or twice in the early 1960's. Unfortunately it was so long ago.
I know and feel he is now playing his beautiful music for God and he is also praying to God for your family.
My prayers and thoughts are with Jerry and you all.
