Charles Ransley Obituary

Ransley, Charles M.
Sodus: Passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at age 89. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy; and sister Charlotte. He is survived by brothers Harold (Jean) of Coupeville, WA, and Richard (Nancy) of Sodus; several nieces and nephews.
Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served as an ambulance driver during WWII in the European Theatre of Operations. Campaigns that Charles participated in include the D-Day Normandy Invasion, and the Battle of the Bulge.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, August 30th, 2-4 p.m. from NORTON FUNERAL HOME, 45 West Main Street, Sodus. Charles' funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Interment with Military Honors, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday September 4th, at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alton Fire Department, P.O. Box 2, Alton, NY 14413, or to the Sodus American Legion Post #910, PO Box 394, Sodus, NY 14551.
