Norbert Dennstedt Obituary
Gates: Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at age 78. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary (Elward); children, Douglas (Rita DeSantis) and Nancy (Jeffrey Allen); grandchildren, Jake and Dana Dennstedt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Dennstedt, Bernard and Ann Elward, Margaret Elward; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elsie (Odlund); brothers, Edward, Roland and Carl Dennstedt; sister, Lois Metherell; Norbert was a Korean War veteran and a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service.
Norbert's family wished to thank Dr. John Andolina and the staff at Unity Hospital, 3400 Unit for the wonderful care they provided Norbert and his family.
Family and friends may call Thursday, 4-8 P.M. at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 9:30 A.M. at St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Open Door Mission. To share a special memory please visit:

Mary,
We are so very sorry to lose Knobby as not only a great neighbor across the street, but also as a dear friend. We will always be very grateful to have spent so many good times with him, and we will miss him terribly. May God bless you and your family, and be with you all during this very difficult time.

I remember Norbert, Carl and my Dad at Ebbe's, drinking beer, working on projects (haying, butchering pigs) and drinking more beer. Norbert was a good man, will be missed but not forgotten. My prayers are with all of you.
