Dunnellon, Florida: Age 69 went peacefully home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 26 in Ocala, FL. He was born August 30, 1938 in Webster City, Iowa, son to the late Marion E. and Gladys E. (Frakes) Hollis. Bill moved to Dunnellon in 2000 from Rochester, New York. For many years he was a Financial Manager with Xerox Corporation, Rochester, N.Y. and following this he was a C.E.O. and C.F.O. with various business interests. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Ocala, where Bill served both as an Usher and an Elder. Bill was an avid golfer and was a member of the Rainbow Springs Golf and Country Club. "He Never Met A Stranger".
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marlyce J. Hollis, Dunnellon; daughter, Gail Sloan and husband, Gary, Boston, MA; 2 sons, Robert P. Hollis and his wife, Kathleen, Canton, CT., and Bill Hollis, Rocky Hill, CT. Bill also leaves one sister, Carolyn Sandberg and her husband, Bill, Chesterfield, Missouri and 5 grandchildren, Kristin Sloan, Riley and Daniel Hollis and Austin and Alexis Hollis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 5200 S.W. College Road, Ocala with Reverend Ron Mueller officiating. Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be given to The Hollis Nursing Scholarship, in care of First Methodist Church, Clarion Iowa, 50525 or to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Funeral Arrangements under the care of Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, still family owned.
