Gail Zuch Obituary

Zuch, Gail L.
Fairport, NY: August 28, 2008, at age 63, after a series of illnesses. Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Adolf B. Zuch; beloved children Christina L. (Aaron) de Zafra and Timothy A. (Janele) Zuch; brother, Gary (Susan) Lunger; brothers-in-law, Harry G. (Margerete) Zuch, and Rudi W. (Darlien) Zuch; many nieces and nephews; and by her grandchildren Sophie Katherine de Zafra and Bennett Andrew Zuch, who were the lights of her life. Gail was predeceased by her parents Ernest (1972) and Adeline (2007) Lunger, and her mother-in-law Sophie Zuch (1983).
Gail was born April 11, 1945, in Rochester. She graduated from Brighton High School (1963) and the Rochester Business Institute (1964), and began her professional career as a secretary at Strasenberg Pharmaceuticals. A deeply committed mother, Gail stayed at home with Christina and Tim until they finished school. She always greeted them as they got off the school bus and happily became known as "Mom Zuch" by hosting frequent gatherings of their friends. Gail's professional career ultimately led her to real estate rental management with several Rochester companies.
Aside from her family, Gail's passions included glass collecting picnic organizing, bird watching and gardening, and playing board games. Despite her modest demeanor, she had a tremendous sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to tease or joke with someone. Gail also had a secret adventurous streak which was revealed during numerous sailing trips on the San Francisco Bay and small airplane rides over the Colorado and California countryside. Her warmth, generosity of spirit, friendship, and dedication to her family will be greatly missed.
Her family will receive friends from 5 - 8 pm on Tuesday, September 2 at Crawford Funeral Home, 495 N. Winton Rd., Rochester. A memorial service celebrating Gail's life will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 3rd at Pittsford Community Church, 421 Marsh Rd., Pittsford. Interment will follow at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford. Her family thanks the amazing staff of the 5-3600 and 8-3400 units at Strong Memorial Hospital for their dedication and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Gail Zuch Memorial Fund at Pittsford Community Church or to the Amercan Diabetes Association.

Although you don't know me, I knew Gail. We went to school together and were in Girls Friendly Society together.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
I pray that the LORD Jesus Christ will hold you and fill you with His peace that passes all understanding during this time.
