MARILYN... You were my sister, my confidant, my best friend, and so much more. I was the little sister you allowed to tag along with you and your "older friends", throughout our childhood. We shared secrets, and were there for each other during all the good times, as well as the hard times...right through to the end.

The oldest of 4 children, you set a fine example of what a "big sister" should be. You carried those values with you into adulthood, raising three beautiful daughters and eight wonderful grandchildren.

Although you moved south with your family in recent years, you always remained close in thought and spirit to the family still in N.Y. That, Marilyn, is the legacy you left behind when you lost your courageous battle with cancer, on September 1, 2008. You were our daughter, our sister, our wife, our mother, our grandmother, our aunt, our Godmother, our friend. You were all that, and more. And we all loved you, and you loved us back, unconditionally.

And when it was your time to leave this world, I was there, as I had promised, to hold your hand, as you had held mine, so many years ago. Someone once wrote, "Sisters hold each other's hands for a little while. But they hold each other's hearts forever." Someone must have known us.

I'll miss you, Marilyn, and I'll love you forever.

Always,
Your sis, Barbara

Dear Bob, Tina, Shannon, Joy and family,
There are no words to tell you how sorry I am about Marilyn's passing. I will remember her always. She was so special in so many ways. I will remember her smile, generosity, selflessness, bravery, compassion, understanding, gentleness, kindness, and love for her family. She truly was a great lady and will always remain alive in our hearts. She was the best of us (the Valley Inn dinner group) and we all knew it.
We will toast her every month and speak of her often.
Love,
Kathy

With family near her in her last days, I'm sure you will have many cherished, priceless memories of a dear lady who battled and was so brave. She leaves a beautiful growing family and many friends that will miss her so much. My prayers go out to all her family at this time of sorrow. May many happier days follow for her wonderful family as I'm sure she would have wished as well.
