Me

September 24, 2008

I have been told, that no matter the pain and hurt we feel we must hold on to the memories Peter has left upon our hearts. I look fondly on all the times Peter has made me smile or laugh when things were so bad that I couldn't see the other side of things. Peter was my rock during the hard times and my clown when I needed a laugh. He was always there no matter what, he just knew when I needed him most. Peter always had an encouraging word or some silly remark that would pull me out of my own craziness. He just always knew what to say. Funny part is most people only saw him for the silly guy that he was, but, I got to see the sensitive, intuitive, caring and loving man that he truly was. He was much more than just a friend to me, he was part of my every day. He was very protective almost paternal when it came to dealing with my stuff. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't check in to see how I was doing.
I pray that Peter is sitting beside the Lord listening to the Angels sing the most beautiful song that one could ever hear. I pray that his family, especially his daughter, knows just how much Peter truly loved you. I pray that all of you can find your way through this and know that if Peter had his way he would still be here by your side.
Meghan, Peter was so enamored by you. So completely proud of you. When you were diving he would run out of the branch to get to your competitions. He would absolutely beem the next day telling all of us how you did. That man lived and breathed you. There was no wrong that you could do. Know that your father loved you with every part of his being. The only thing he would change, if he had the chance, is being able to spend more time with you. He loved you so very much. Never forget that. He's watching over all of you with the loving care that he has always felt. He lives on in all of us.

The Fairport High School Class of 1977 would like to extend its sympathies to Peter's family. Although Pete moved away from Fairport before our senior year began, we will always consider him one of our own. Many of us remember the smiles and laughter he brought into our lives on a daily basis. We are all saddened to learn that the world has lost another one of the good guys.

Peter and I worked together at Citizens Bank for several years. He always knew how to make us laugh when things were rough. He was not only a great boss but, he was also someone I could call upon when I needed someone to talk to. He always had an answer for just about any problem. Granted it was often peppered with some silly knick name or random joke. But, that was Peter. Always ready to help and willing to go that extra mile. He is greatly missed. My prayers are with the entire Orr family. He loved you all tremendously.

I knew Peter (and Kim) years ago when we worked together during the "good old days" at Citibank. We played softball together for several years. I and my family extend our deepest condolences to his daughter and the rest of his family. My heart breaks for Megan as she is much too young to lose both parents. God bless.

Peter was a great guy with such a fun sense of humor. He was a valuable asset to the Aerotek office and actually brought some sanity to our days.
Peter was one of the first people to call when someone close to me passed away. It meant a lot to me and was very comforting. There's definitely a spot saved for Peter in Heaven.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter, wife and other family and friends.
He will be missed by so many people, and I'm glad our lives have crossed paths.
