Marvin Remming Obituary
Springwater/Rochester: On September 4, 2008, at age 79. He is predeceased by his wife, Theresa. He is survived by his children, Randy (Pat Copeland) Remming, Keith Remming, Sandra Reifenstein, Laurie (Peter) Faith, Christine (Rick) Madsen, Debra Hart; grandchildren, Jeramie, Loni, Kory, Matthew, Steven, Abby, Randi, Amanda, Tyler, Diana, Christopher & Cameron; great-grand-daughter, Madison; sister, Margaret Bisnett; brother-in-law, Jack Mazzo; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Marvin was a Retired Lieutenant from the City of Rochester Fire Dept. after 37½ years of service and also a proud US Marine Corps Veteran.
Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Road South) on Monday 2-4 & 6-9 PM. Marvin's Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Interfaith Chapel at Miller Funeral Homes on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. Lt Remming was my first company officer on RFD Truck 2. My first night on the job he showed me the SCBA and told me that they were the only things on the truck that were there to save OUR lives and that I would be a fool not to wear mine on every call.
I never forgot what he taught me and I followed his orders.
Lt Remming taught me much of what I value about the family of the fire service. I have used what he taught me time after time in my own actions and in teaching firefighters and officers in 3 states during my career.
He was a great man and a great fire officer. He will be missed by family, friends and the fire service.
