Christopher
First let me say that I am very sorry to hear about your Dad. We have been freinds since the early 1970's when we both joined the Fire Depts. Your Dad in Lima & me in Honeoye Falls. I know he loved the fire service. The only thing he spoke of more was how proud he was of you. I know you will miss him. Our Prayers go out to you all

My most heart felt sympathy to Jack's family. Jack and I had many adventures growing up in Lima and his mother Mary Jo always made it fun to be at the house. I remember when Jack got a school jacket (blue & gold with a big L for Lima) I bugged my mother until she finally got one for me. Unfortunately, I still wasn't cool, but Jack was! Remember how much brill cream we had to put on our hair to get the brush cuts to stand up? I always respected Jack for how much he thought of his father John and how appropriate it was that he created a schollarship in his father's name, while his father was still alive. I cannot begin to imagine the grief that his untimely passing must be causing his family and can only hope that their fond memories of Jack will provide them with some comfort in the coming days.

Jack made an impression on everyone, even a third grader. When we moved to Honeoye Falls, my 3rd grade daughter went sledding with Jack and our new neighbors. Some other sledding party had a sledding accident on the hill, and Jack and our neighbor of course provided emergency medical care. That incident provided the impetus for my daughter to use Jack as her "most memorable person" in her 3rd grade writing assignment. No greater legacy than to know you had positive impact on someone. Christopher, I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Now who's going to direct traffic at night at the HFL Performing Arts Center?

This is a terrible loss. Jack was such a good friend to me. I worked with him at the Hartford and he was such a support to me when I needed a friend. He introduced me to my husband and always gave me encouragement.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
~~~My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
