Verdell Dudley Obituary
Rochester: September 11, 2008 at age 79. Predeceased by her parents, Susie Williams-Stewart and Verge Williams; daughters, Thelma "Redd" Campbell and Debra Dudley. Forever cherished by her children, Gwendolyn Miller of Detroit, MI, Stephanie (Lennoxdrick) Powell of Chesapeake, VA, Jesse (Connie) Dudley, Leonard Bradford, Jannie and Sandra Dudley, Charlene Burroughs and special daughters, Shirley Kinsey and Regina Young, all of Rochester; sisters, Leola Thrash of Sanford, FL, Juanita (Joe) Jackson of Kissimmee, FL and Alma Newsome of Dallas, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday 6-9 PM at Metropolitan Funeral Chapels Inc., 109 West Avenue. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at Mt. Sinai International Ministries, 1713 Lyell Avenue. Bishop James Hartsfield, Rev. Arthur Crittenden, Officiating. Interment, Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to: Skip Generation Program c/o Family Resource Center at Crestwood, 89 Genesee Street, Rochester, NY 14611.

Even thought we didnt have our proper good byes i kno that your still here in my heart. Thank you for being their for me, you were always a shoulder that i leaned on. You were that second grandmother that gave me twice as much love, and thank you for dat. Il always remember the words you gave to me "smiley always keep your head up and never give up, stay strong and do your best".

Midget, San and Jannie,
It's been a rough couple of years for you and I am truly sorry. You are like family to me and I love you all. Verdell was always funny, sweet and caring from the moment I met her. I've always enjoyed spending time with you and her. Midget, I miss getting into trouble with you:) See you soon. I'm truly sorry I'm can't be there for you. But as always, call me or visit if you need a break.
