My Prayer for You

I put it in your hands Lord, gave all my cares to you
My faith, my trust, my love Lord, as only you can do

All my fears and needs, I lay down at your feet
You are the only one Lord, which Satan cannot beat

As difficult as it is, to accept I have not the final say
I humbly give you thanks Lord, for listening when I pray

Thank you for your Son Lord, who gave us saving grace
Thank you for the strength, with all I have to face

Thank you for the blessings, and miracles I have seen
Thank you for never leaving me, and wiping my sins clean

I have a special thanks Lord, for a gift you’ve given me
The incredible gift of parents, who have always been a blessing to me

Fill me with Your Spirit Lord, Heal me with Your touch
Comfort my aching heart, when the days get a little rough

Help me through these days, may Your Angels be my guide
When I need to rest Lord, let me feel you by my side…

You will remain in my heart and I will cherish all the wonderful memories, until we are all together again in God's Glorious Kingdom. I remember telling you in the hospital but I feel the need to tell you again "out of all the children in the world, you chose me." Thank you! When you held my hand in the hospital, I felt God holding ours.

Loving and missing you,
Kathy Schultz Basch

How Could It Be

How could it be that I didn’t know what I had,
After all these years of calling him Dad?
How could it be since he lost his fight to remain on earth,
That I’m feeling such pain for a man I never knew at birth?

How could it be that this hole in my heart,
Can only be filled by God, just as it was from the start?
Why would God give me this father that I’ve loved and known,
Only to take him away just when I need him so?

Maybe he was sent to be a part of my life,
To demonstrate his faith and how to love my wife.
He had hands like steel, yet soft as a dove,
And a heart so warm, he could melt ice with his love.

The lessons that he taught me by the way he lived his life,
The pride he had in his children, the way he loved his wife.
Much like the example that Jesus Christ used,
When they nailed Him to a cross all beaten and bruised.
He lived to teach us from his birth to his grave,
That love is all that matters and it’s faith that keeps us brave.

Just as God the Father loved His Son sent from above,
And just as Jesus died to demonstrate His love,
This earthly father has taught me to put my faith in God not in man,
To love my wife and children, with a warm heart and a gentle hand.

So that when my days on earth are coming to a close,
I’ll be able to look to heaven so that everyone here knows,
The lessons learned from this father, were sent as a gift from above,
So that we can spend eternity, with the fathers that we’ve loved.

Dad,
You lived your life engraved in the Father’s hand,
May you rest for eternity wrapped in His loving arms.
Love, Tom

In Your Eyes Dad

In your eyes, we have seen Love
Overflowing in all you do

In your eyes, we have seen faith
In all the prayers prayed by you

In your eyes, we have seen hope
In all the stray souls you have found

In your eyes, we have seen caring
In all the sunshine you spread around

In your eyes, we have seen the burdens
The worries you carried in your heart

In your eyes, we have seen the sparkle
And knew God was with you from the start

These things we have seen in your eyes Dad
Are from the glorious heavens above

Qualities that we know are precious gifts
Examples of God’s perfect Love

In our eyes Dad, you are an inspiration, of all in life that we need and that is good,
Love, Faith, Hope, Caring and God.

So much of you that we will carry with us, your enduring faith and courage have given us strength to face our future and what God has planned for us.

You will always be loved, missed, honored and remembered,

For the strong, unique and loving man you always have been.

Loving and missing you more each day... more than I ever imagined possible!

How do I say goodbye
To a man I love so much?
He wasn’t my natural father.
But he loved me like a son.
After seventy-eight years on this earth,
His time here now is done.

Together we’ve laughed and cried,
Shared happy times and sad.
He’s praised me for the good,
And scolded me for the bad.

He’s shown me by example,
How to love and how to lead.
He’s taught me to serve others,
By helping those in need.

I’ve seen him angry; I’ve seen him frown,
I’ve seen him laugh and joke like a clown.
I’ve seen in his eyes that look of fear,
I’ve held his hand as we both shed a tear.

We’ve talked about God the Father,
And how He sacrificed His Son.
We’ve talked about Angels,
About when his time on earth was done.

I remember our first Thanksgiving, table all covered in lace,
The meal set before us and the look on his face.
But most of all I remember the way he made me feel,
As he prayed for our family and gave thanks for the meal.

I know that The Father has called him home.
I know that in Heaven he won’t be alone.
I know that the angels will take over his care.
I know that God Himself will welcome him there.

It certainly seems selfish,
That I’m having trouble letting him go.
It’s the “good-bye” thing I can’t handle,
The ache in my heart that hurts me so.

Well I’m not going to say it!
I refuse to say good-bye!
I’ve realized I don’t have to,
And I’ll tell you why.

Our time on earth is temporal,
While Heaven is forever.
So why should I say good-bye,
When eventually we’ll be together?

Instead let me say, thank you Dad,
For all the love that you’ve shared,
For the lessons you have taught me,
For the incredible way you’ve cared.

Thank you Bill, my Dad, my friend,
May you rest in God’s arms I pray.
Until we meet again in Heaven,
And we all celebrate forever and a day.

Thank you Dad, for giving me the greatest gift I have ever received, your daughter Kathy.

Love Always, Tom

Dear Joyce, Jim, Kathy, Pam and Brad,
My sympathy goes out to all of you. Bill and I always enjoyed each other's company and he always listened to all of my problems. Though I hadn't seen him or all of you in many years, I thought of all of you many times. I will always remember sitting in your kitchen, on the porch, lunches with Bill and our transportation social gatherings, especially our Euchre partnerships. My best to you all during this difficult time. Steve Ford (former transportation Manager).

I am very sorry to hear the news of the loss of Bill. We met when your family moved next door to us when I was a teenager. Your parents were such great neighbors, many pleasant conversations and/or times ensued. Some prominent memories are Bill grilling out most nights in the summer, the baby sitting when your children were young, it was a pleasure to do and Bill & Joyce sitting on the front porch. Words can't express the loss, but please accept my deepest sympathy.
