Thomas Devitt Obituary
San Francisco, CA: Suddenly, Sept. 4, 2008. Predeceased by his beloved Grandmothers Rose and Judy, special Aunt Fran Desando, his parents Joseph and Carolyn Devitt. Survived by his sisters, Joanie (Dewey) Craw, Elaine (Richard) Becker; many nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Western Iowa Tech with a degree in Piano Technology and moved to San Francisco where he operated a piano tuning and rebuilding business. "T" will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

I was a very good friend of Tom when he lived in Sioux City and he took piano tuning at Western Iowa Tech. I found out about Tom's passing tonight, 15 years later. I have always missed him. I wish Tom eternal life.

My pool of lifelong friends has been greatly diminished by Tom's passing.I can't remember a time when we were not friends.Together,we traveled life's path.For the past few years he and I have spoken long-distance 2-3 times a month,and with our conversations I again learned how important it is to have true friends.I will always miss him.My deep sympathies to his family and friends.We have lost someone irreplacable.

I learned too late. As a life-long friend,I am stunned and greatly saddened. I speak for my entire family when I say that Tom was special to us. We always set a plate for Tom on Thanksgiving and Christmas, even when we knew he was in SF and not likely to appear.Tom taught me what a sense of humor was and what it meant to have a true friend in the family.I will miss him.
