Irv Starr Obituary

Starr, Irv
Rochester: Passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 20, 2008, at the age of 85. Predeceased by parents, Ida & Sam Starr and sister, Pearl Bray. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Ann Starr; his devoted children, Andy Starr (Joan Flender), Eileen Bisha (Lynn) and Donna Starr (David Snaith); cousin, Abe Starkman; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Irv served 2 terms as President of the Real Estate Board of Rochester, was named Realtor of the Year, and served on the Rochester Preservation Board. He also helped found the Rochester Consumer Credit Counseling Service and was a member of the Knights of Pythias. More recently, for over 20 years, Irv and his family were ardent supporters of the Jewish Community Center's Camp Seneca Lake, where he had spent many happy moments as a youth.
During his lifetime, our Dad was dedicated to his profession as a commercial realtor, his community and his family. He lived his values of service to community. He will be remembered for his quick wit and ready smile. Together Irv and Joy left a legacy of generosity and integrity.

To the family of Irv, My deepest sympaty to all of you. This was a very kind and generous man. My father-in-law was one of his renters, and Irv was so good to him and to me at his passing. It was most difficult having to work and clean out his Town house in Greece. No pressure on me to vacate. Everyone at Towne House Circle appreciated the kindness of this fine man. He had a wonderful rapport with all residents. He will be truly missed.

Irv was a very special person. He usually had a smile on his face and a deal in his heart. No one worked harder than Irv and to work with him in a real estate deal, etc. was an honor. His word was his contract. My condolences to his family whom I know he loved very much. He will not be forgotten in our hearts.
