Joannah Clark Obituary

Clark, Joannah
Rochester: My dear sister Joannah departed this life Thursday, September 25th, 2008, in her 75th year, and is now in a more comfortable place. A native of Syracuse and a 1954 graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Microbiology, Joannah never stopped learning new things. She spent almost 35 years working in the blood chemistry lab at Rochester General Hospital, where she had to be totally accurate concerning the blood enzymes she analyzed. She compiled perfect attendance records year after year. You could always count on Joannah.
Joannah was a lifeguard at several city pools and participated in the City Recreation League Games in diving, track and field and tennis. She won various medals and was voted best female athlete at Eastwood High her senior year.
Joannah was a member of Toast-mistress International, The Daughters of the American Revolution, and is a descendant of Mayflower passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley.
Surviving are her brother Andrew Clark, twin nieces Cynthia and Anne, and grand niece Julia and grand nephew Pasquale. Also Joannah has many relatives here in the Syracuse area. Thanks to the nurses and doctors and caregivers at Rosewood Heights and Crouse Hospital.
Services: 10am Monday, Our Lady of Solace Church, 515 Salt Springs Rd., Syracuse. Friends may call 2-4pm Sunday at the Greenleaf Funeral Home Inc., 503 W. Onondaga St., Syracuse.
