Goebel, Henry Edward
Henrietta: Died peacefully on September 25, 2008, at age 97. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Evelyn (Zabel) Goebel and daughter, Linda Banks. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Vincent) Gilhool and John (Linda) Goebel; son-in-law, William Banks Sr.; grandchildren, Suzanne, Caroline, William Jr. and Lora Banks, Matthew, Steven (Laura) and Amanda Gilhool, David and Peter Goebel; nephews, Frederick and Robert Miller; extended family in Germany and devoted friend and aide, Erlene Griffin.
Henry was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of the Brighton United Church of Christ. He served his country in war time as a professional engineer and in peace time he touched many young lives in his 17 years as a teacher at Edison Technical and Industrial High School.
A Memorial Service celebrating Henry's life will be held at the Brighton United Church of Christ, 1095 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623, on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 4 PM, a buffet reception for friends and family will immediately follow at the church. Interment will be held privately. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Mr Gobel was a kind, thoughtful, intelligent and loving man. He will be sorely missed by my mother. I was always happy to visit with him when I was visiting Rochester.
