Raymond Jr.
Wilmore, KY: Formerly of Penfield, NY, born January 10, 1927 Marion, IN., died September 27, 2008, Wilmore, KY. He served in the Army during WWII, graduated from Hamilton College in 1949 and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1951. He married Jeanne Graves in 1949 and held positions in market research and business administration with several companies in Upstate New York. His final employment was with the State of North Carolina as a regional administrator of business development. He also taught college business courses at Monroe Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Mars Hill College in NC. He was active in church life and a member of Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. He held many volunteer positions throughout his life as well.
He was known amongst his friends and family for his kindness, warmth and generosity. For the last few years of his life, Ray and Jeanne resided in Wesley Village, Wilmore, Kentucky, where they enjoyed a community of support and friendship. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, sons Keith Burrows of Dayton Ohio, family friend Bill Miller of Dayton, OH, David Burrows (Linda Chaudron, Sydney and Simon) of Rochester NY, and daughter Lynn Burrows (Bill Alves, Spencer and Ben) of Claremont, CA.
A memorial service is to held at Wesley Village Community Center at 3:00 Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Arrangements by Milward Funeral Home, Lexington, KY. Memorials may be made to Memory Care Fund for Alzheimer's, c/o Wesley Village, 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore, KY 40390, www.wvillage.com. www.milwardfuneral.com.
