To the Calabrese family: We have just learned today of Todd's passing and it threw us for a loop. Our sympathy goes out to all of you. He spoke soooo much of his family when he was working and he did such a GREAT job. He was laid back but he'd also crack the whip when he had to. We will miss his excellent work and Adam who worked with him...keep up the good work that he taught you how to do...especially with the wall paper iron. May the memories you have of him sustain you in your grief and if you need anything...don't hesitate to call us.

Here it goes a little thing I wrote for my American dad, I'll always love you!

When I first met Todd, holding a poster sing with my name written in one hand and a bunch of balloons in the other, I could never imagine that I would become part of his family so fast. His hospitality, together with the rest of the family, made me feel like home since the first day.

He liked the idea of having a teenager son and I loved the idea of a young and crazy dad. I liked to call him dad but he became a fiend soon, always laughing and making all kind of jokes. I do have many memories of these years, all them great. No matter where we were; we always had something to laugh about while singing songs like “Piano Man”, “Unforgettable” or “Sweet Caroline”.

He was always ready to do everything without thinking it twice, no matter how impossible it seemed. With a cap on at all times and a sleeveless t-shirt so we could see his Tazz tattoo, he had been a great golf teacher, a tough opponent playing video games and a perfect trip planner.

Getting to know the American culture and many important lessons in life through him has been such an honor. That’s why I fell very lucky today, because I had the chance to share with him the last seven years of his life.

My family back in Spain and I would always be thankful to Todd and his family for everything they’ve done for us so far. I’m sending all their love for him as well.

He was always looking forward to come back to Spain once again, so from now on he should know that there will always be a part of him in Barcelona.

I love you

Todd gave me a chance when no one else would. He never judged me because of mistakes i had made. Instead he gave me the opportunity to prove myself and earn his trust.
Todd always thanked me after a hard day of work, and acknowledged me when i put in that extra effort to get the job done. To be appreciated is something we all need , and i know Todd appreciated all the people in his life. At a point in my life when i was feeling worthless Todd made me feel like i was needed and that i mattered.
He was such an honerable, funloving guy, and he did more for me than i can explain with words. My deepest sympathy goes out to those that know him better than i do.
I am a better person today because of Todd and i am forever in his and his family's debt. I apolagize for not being there to pay my respects, as i was out of town, but you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Im here if i can help in ANY way.

Todd you will truly be missed by all and though we drifted in the past few years I have always held you and your family near and dear to my heart. I love you Todd and give my Mom a big hug and kiss for me up there.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Todd was my best friend over the last 20 years. Todd was the ultimate friend. He was always there when you needed him. He was a man very proud of his wife and children and would share daily a story about one or all of them and how proud he was of their accomplishments. I will miss our daily conversations, our breakfast and lunch meetings, our practical jokes played on each other, golf outings and most of all our solid friendship.
