Ella Ernst Obituary
Hudson, NY/ Formerly of Irondequoit: Ella entered into rest at the age of 102 on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Firemen's Home in Hudson, NY. Pre-deceased by her husband, Elmer and her grandson, Robert McCartney. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy McCartney Allen (Robert Bailey) and Nancy (David) Shepard of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Linda (Ted) Sachs, Tom McCartney, John McCartney Paul (Debbie) McCartney, Scott (Michelle) Shepard, Jay (Shari) Shepard and Gregg (Rozene) Shepard; 14 great grandchildren. Ella was the Charter President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Fireman's Association of the State of New York (LAFASNY), and past president of both the Pt. Pleasant Ladies Auxiliary and the Monroe County Ladies Auxiliary.
Her family will receive friends Monday 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to meet the family Tuesday 10:00am at St. Salome's Church for her funeral mass. Interment will be held in private at the Byron Cemetery. In memory of Ella, memorials may be directed to the Firemen's Home on the Hudson, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534.
