George Chermack Obituary

Chermack, George L. Jr.
Rochester: Formerly of Oneonta, NY and NYC. Passed away October 9, 2008 in San Antonio TX, where he lived with his loving daughter, Sarah and son-in-law, Matt Laue. He is also survived by his wife, Lauren Chermack; daughter, Amie Marie (Andrew) Ballato; son, John Peter Chermack; 5 grandchildren, Savanah, Cayden, Hailee, Maia and Andrew; mother, Dorothy G. Chermack; sisters, Susan (Jeffrey) Simmers, Maggie Clemens and partner (Karen Mustian), Teresa Malinowski; brother, John A. Chermack and partner (Orestes Diaz); and numerous nieces and nephews. George served as a First Lt. in the U.S. Navy, where he retired in 1988. George will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
No prior calling. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at the Church of the Assumption, Fairport at 9 AM a reception will immediately follow at 99 Forest Park, Victor, NY. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Upstate New York Chapter, 1650 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620, 800-344-4867 in George's memory. George's remains will be scattered off the coast of San Diego by the U.S. Navy with full honors. Arrangements Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 585-223-4840.

Georgie:
i will miss you always--i can hardly believe that you are not here. i treasure all of our moments growing up together. You fought valiantly against an ugly and vicious disease and were an inspiration to me an others. i wish i could have helped with your pain, with much love your sister maggie
