Ronald Merkley Obituary

Merkley, Ronald J.
Greece: Monday, October 13, 2008, at age 92. He is predeceased by his infant son, Donald Robert Merkley; and sister, Patricia Thomas. Survived by his devoted wife, Rita (Cashion) Merkley of 66 years; loving children, Maureen (the late Salvatore) Tantillo, Karl (Angela) Merkley, Steven Merkley and David Merkley; beloved grandchildren, Tracy (Donna) Merkley, Christopher Grecco, Robert Merkley and Eric (Danielle) Binn; and special great-grandchildren, Kayla, Maia, Natalie, Emma and Skylar; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Ronald was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force and a retiree of Gannett Newspapers. The family wishes to thank the staff at Unity Hospital, 2300 Unit.
Friends may call Sunday, 1-4 PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Rd. Ronald's Funeral Service will be on MONDAY, 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to the American Parkinson's Disease Assocation.
