Richard Downey Obituary
Nunda: Suddenly, at age 60. He left the legacy of his family, loving wife of 40 years Wendy; 3 children, Michael (Jennifer) Downey of CA, Jennifer (Fritz) Amrhein of Nunda & Leah (Tom) Burger of Rochester; 3 grandchildren, Chelsea, Chase & Haileigh; mother-in-law, Joyce Howard of Nunda; very special cousin, Linda (Ron) Gray of Mt. Morris; several nieces, nephews & cousins and many dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Carroll Sr. & Mary; brothers, Carroll Jr. & Leo; sister, Patricia and father-in-law, Wendell Howard. Many were touched by his love and devotion and he will be greatly missed by all.
Friends may call SUN. 1-5 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St, (Rt. 408), Mt. Morris, where prayers will be said MON at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 am. Burial St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Robert J. Flavin Novalis Shaped Beam Surgery, PO Box 647, Rochester, NY 14642, or Gilda's Club, 225 Alexander St., Rochester, NY 14607. Sign the online registry at:

Uncle Rich, you were the family icon. Smiles and Laughter came so easy, your love for Aunt Wendy gave inspiration to all those that headed down the isle. When we think of you we smile. You will be missed greatly.

To Rich's family! Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all. Rich was one in a million! I will truly miss his calls to the LAC center, when I'd answer I'd hear that familiar chuckle and him saying "boy, this is my lucky day!" So many of us at Frontier will truly miss his big smile and the way he would make us laugh. He truly was a great guy!
