Emily Cassebeer Obituary

Cassebeer, Emily D.
Rochester: July 3, 2007. Emily was predeceased by her husband George Sabey Cassebeer, and was the last of her generation of the Judge Marvin Dye family of Rochester. Survived by her sons: Peter (Barbara) Cassebeer, Jon (Lori) Cassebeer, and Philip (Elizabeth) Cassebeer. A graduate of Charlotte High School, she also took classes at Cornell and the University of Rochester. Emily was passionate for the arts and spent most of her life volunteering and working for the Memorial Art Gallery - Creative Workshop. Her love of children and their unlimited creativity always gave her great joy. Books, crossword puzzles, creating and collecting art, volunteering for the arts communities and offering a soft touch for small animals fulfilled her.
A memorial service to celebrate Emily's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2007, in the The Samuel Colgate Memorial Chapel at the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School with a reception following. Donations should be sent to the Emily D. Cassebeer Creative Workshop Fund, c/o University of Rochester Memorial Art Gallery, (585)-273-2158 or The Humane Society of Rochester at Lollypop Farm (585) 223-1330.
