Henrietta: October 9, 2007. Predeceased by 1 son, Larry D. Davis; 1 daughter, Lisa D. Davis. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan L. Davis of Henrietta; 1 son, Wade (Linda) Davis II; 6 daughters, Katherine (Patrick) Johnson, Valerie R. (Richard) Barnes, all of Rochester, NY, Shalonda D. Young of Syracuse, NY, Tracy Ann (Jeffrey) Davis of CA, Tiffany N. (Jeff) Travis and Fallon L.J. Davis both of Rochester, NY; 18 grand; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Billy (Jane) Newsome of Albion, NY; very dear friend and brother, Jerry Ferguson of Rochester; nieces, nephews, cousins; 8 sisters-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law; other relatives, church family and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, 6-9 PM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 141 Adams St. Funeral Service Wednesday, 11 AM at the Church, Rev. Lawrence Hargrave, Officiating. Interment White Haven Memorial Park, Perinton, NY.

To the Davis Family & Billy:
I became familar with Wade Sr. through the family friendship my mother had with some of his family and through his brother Billy whom was and is like a brother to me.
In the early days in our neighborhood, Joiner Street, Hanover Houses, Joseph Avenue and the surrounding areas. We were all so proud of Wade Sr. because he lived and was rised in our area and he had achived recognition and notoriety for his vocal talent. Outside of his singing career I found Wade Sr. to be a very kind and respectable person, whom I believe is now in the heavenly realm of existence with God.
May the grace and peace of God bless and comfort you all now and always.

My heart goes out to the famliy in theirtime of sorrow. We the Goodwine family will pray you and your family. I am so thankful to Wade for coming to hear my son Marcus sing in a competetion. Wade encourage him and gave him such great feed back. As a result my son has not only continued but he has made great improvement in his voice and range. Marcus has made mentioned time and time again what Wade said to him that gave him more confident with self.
