Marion Degan Obituary
Gates: October 16, 2007, age 80. She was predeceased by her daughters, Kathryn and Carol. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lawrence Degan; daughters, Janet Degan, Jill (Chris) Thrasher; son, William (Jean) Degan; 6 grandchildren and cousins.
Marion who started her singing on a radio show at the age of 2, shared her gift from God in various Catholic Church and community Choirs in Schenectady, Arlington, Utica, Syracuse and Philadelphia. She was a gifted piano player, avid golfer, downhill skier, world traveler and a beautiful wife, mom, gramm, friend and volunteer.
Friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Friday 11 AM at St. Pius the Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Vanderbilt Shy-Drager/MSA Research Fund, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, AA-3228 Medical Center North, Nashville, TN. 37232-2195. Arr. by Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home.

I remember her as always smiling and laughing---since the time I met her when I was in grade school (as a dear friend of her daughter, Carol) through various visits during the years.
She was a lovely soul who raised a fabulous family. How wonderful that she spent her last months surrounded by these loving people, helping her be able to pass in peace.
We wish comfort for all of the Degan family at this time of such great loss.
