Rochester: October 19, 2007, at age 97. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grand-father. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia; parents, Edmund and Emma Seegler; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; granddaughter, Lisa Johnroe Lamere; and grandson, Shawn Johnroe. Walter was a dedicated employee of Bausch & Lomb for 30 years as chief engineer. In early years, as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, he helped plant many trees in Rochester area parks & later fought wildfires in Idaho. At 97, his memory was as sharp as ever and he loved telling stories about the old days. Walter will be greatly missed by his children, Patricia Rogers-Buehlman (Lynn), Linda Johnroe (James Brosseau), John Seegler (Lorie); grandchildren, Laurie Betts (Kary), Julie Curtis (Royal), Suzanne VanDamme (Alex), Michael Satter, Holly Johnroe (Rob Russo), Andrew Johnroe, John Seegler Jr. (Gail), Timothy Seegler and Bradley Seegler; and 29 great-grand-children. Walt was kindhearted and loved his family.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Road S.). Walt's Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 AM at the Lutheran Church of Peace (125 Caroline St.). Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation in his memory. To leave a message of condolence, please light a candle at:
