I spent many years working with Joe while he was in the cost group at Kodak. He was always fun to be around and there was never a shortage of laughs. He MC'd the luncheon when Mike Billitier and I retired and kept the group in stitches. He is one of those that I'll always remember. My most sincere condolences to his family as I know that they meant the world to him. Walking into his office was like walking into someone's living room with all the pictures he had of them. God must have needed a cost engineer.

Linda, Brenda, Laurie and Jack - and of course spouses and grandchildren - I was so saddened to hear of your loss of a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather. Joe was one of a kind and his death will effect a lot of people that he has come into contact with! He always had a smile! Linda and/or Brenda please contact me because I want to help out anyway I can. I am sorry I was just getting back from a trip to Germany and wasn't back in Rochester until after the funeral.

To Linda and Children: I will miss my office mate and side kick of over 20 years even more now. Joe and Linda were going to come to see Joanne and I in Blossvale after you were settled in your new home. The last time I saw Joe was having dinner with the other Kodak "boys". We always talked about all the good times we had and Joe was always there with a good story and a deep laugh. I will miss him very much

The sun is not shining quite as bright, the day seems to be a little longer and the clouds hang around just a little bit longer.
A ray of sunshine has been taken from us and has left a small space that nothing nor noone can replace.

Joe will be missed. I worked with Joe for many years at Kodak and helped him out while building his dream home. I recall a certain memory when my son and I were helping Joe clear the big pines trees on his property at the very start of his home building process and while Joe was cutting the trees with the chain saw, my son and were telling Joe "we quit" and ofcourse he could not hear up above the saw. It has been a standing joke for a couple of years now. I consider Joe a true friend and will carry fond memories of him forever.

The world has lost a wonderful man. I have had the opportunity to work with Joe for 10 Years at Kodak, and that experience taught me many life lessons. Joe had great passion for his work, bringing knokwledge, invention and sense of humor and always having the right perspective in importance. He was respected by his colluegues at Kodak and will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Joe and I know what you, as family, must be going through. Joe's great joy in his family was evident every day I knew him. We travelled together, laughed together about our families and current situations while he made my Kodak years more fun.
Even when he was stressed, he always had a smile on his face. I think because the pictures of his family were always right there for him to look at on his desk, and with every new grandchild came new pictures. He always made you feel important whenever you were around him.

Favorite memory is at the Cannonball Pub in Wyoming NY at the AppleUmpkin festival with the folks from China. And who else could possibly tell me what a battery cost and make me laugh at the detail as much as he could.

Words cannot express how sorry we are. Joe was a wonderful man! He loved his family very much and would talk about them often. He offered the Veterans Outreach Center his talents and skills and allowed fellow veterans to learn from him.

Not only was Joe a wonderful instructor, he was also a friend to all of us. Always with a smile on his face and eager to learn and teach new things. The staff, volunteers and visitors will miss Joe very much as he was truly one of a kind!!

It is such a tragedy to lose a family member. My heart is heavy today with grief, not only for Mr. Stout (as I called him) but for his family that is left behind to pick up the pieces and continue on. I know from experience how difficult it can be to lose a family member and I'd like to encourage you all to lean on your other family members and friends. They will not know what to say but their presence means so much! God Bless Mr. Stout and his family.
