Shaver, John E.
Florida: October 21, 2007. After a brief battle with cancer, he died peacefully surrounded by his children, Tara (Ron) Wilder of Ithaca, NY, Tanis (Ken Dillon) Carey of Lee's Summit, MO, Troy Shaver of Ithaca, NY. Also survived by his mother, Dorothy B. Brower of Rochester; brothers, Robert W. (Maryann Sciarabba) Shaver of Rochester, William (Gayle) Shaver of Ontario, NY; grandchildren, Thomas, Zachary and Carrie Wilder; a niece and several nephews.
John was born June 13, 1940 in Rochester to Elwood & Dorothy Shaver. He was a 1958 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. In 1991 following his retirement from Eastman Kodak after nearly 30 years of service, he relocated to Fort Myers, FL, where he enjoyed many years of retirement, working part time at the Fort Myers Airport as a parking lot supervisor. John was a member of the Brockport Elk's Club #2110 BPOE and served as Exalted Ruler from 1986-1988. Preceded in death by his father, Elwood Shaver, John will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Friends may call Thursday, October 25th, 4-7 PM at the Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta). Elk Service 10:45 AM Friday followed by his Funeral Service, 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.
