Doris Buford Obituary
Detroit/Fairport: November 8, 2007 at age 89. Predeceased by husband, Grover. Survived by sons, Dennis (Marlene Rhinewald) of Fairport, Terrence (Elizabeth) of Greece; 1 sister, Patricia Pokrajak of Pasadena, CA. Doris was a WWII veteran. She worked as a Naval Aviation Machinist.
No prior calling. Services to be held at the convenience of the family. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620. Arrangements: RICHARD H. KEENAN FUNERAL HOME.

Doris had always been a special friend of mine. During the past 5 years, I volunteered my time at Hill Haven, where I had the pleasure to meet her. We spent countless hours playing rummy and bingo and shared stories over coffee. She told me about her life in WAVES and I told her about own college experiences. We joked around and shared candy while making crafts. She will be missed dearly. I love you Doris. You were an amazing woman, a very beautiful and a strong lady. Thank you so much for your love and kindness and I'm sorry I was not able to spend this Thanksgiving with you. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers...and I offer my deepest sympathies to the family. God Bless
