Eugenia Dapolito Obituary

Dapolito, Eugenia
"Gina" M. Alvaro
Clyde: Suddenly on November 7, 2007 at age 71 in Marano di Napoli, Italy. She is survived by her husband, George M. Dapolito of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Gina (Gil) DeSpain of Baldwinsville, and Mrs. Julie (Ted) Terrell of Fairport; 3 grandchildren, Kristopher & Darcey DeSpain and Matthew Terrell; her brother, Fortunato (Carol) Alvaro of Canandaigua; her sisters Carmelina Alvaro DeCicco of Marano di Napoli, Italy; Stella (Gary) Cowles of Royal Palm Beach, FL; her aunt Stella Santelli of Tarpon Springs, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Emacolata LaManna Alvaro, her father Luigi Alvaro, her sister Antonetta Alvaro Merlino. Mrs. Dapolitio was born on March 4, 1936 in Galatro, Reggio Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Luigi and Emacolata LaManna Alvaro.
She and her husband owned and operated Dapolito's Florist and Greenhouses in Clyde for over 25 years. She also owned and operated Mary's Fashion Shop and the Men's Shop in Clyde prior to her semi-retirement in which she then worked at J.L. Hammet's in Lyons, NY, DeVries Gardens in Newark and Dapolito's Fruit Stand in Clyde. Gina enjoyed flowering, gardening, and cooking but above all the most important thing to her was the time she spent helping to raise her grandchildren. She will be missed by all that came in contact with her.
Calling hours will be private for the family. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (November 13th) at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church with the Rev. Joseph Marcoux officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Crypts of St. John's Cemetery in Clyde. Memorial contributions to the St. John's Church Renovation Fund, 114 Sodus Street, Clyde, NY 14433 or to the Clyde Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 145, Clyde, NY 14433 would be appreciated.
