William VanSickle Obituary
Phelps: 87, of Burnett Rd., passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007, at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.
Friends and family may attend calling hours on Wednesday (Nov. 21) from 10 to 11 am at the Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Stanley.
For those wishing, memorial contributions may made to the Finger Lakes Ambulance.
Bill was born on December 27, 1919, in Geneva, a son to Curtis and Clara Shipman VanSickle. He was an area farmer of Black Angus cattle, loved playing piano for Grange functions and Church groups, a local historian and antique collector.
Bill is survived by his siblings, Emma Dullen of Syracuse, Ruth Carlson, Roy VanSickle and Howard VanSickle, all of Stanley; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend Roy Taylor.
Bill was predeceased by his brother, Carl VanSickle, in 1965.

I have many very fond memories of Bill that will always be with me. In my youth, Bill was a great favorite of mine. My Uncle LeRoy and Bill would tell of many adventures they had together on the farm. I even received one of their kittens who I treasured to her death at 16 years.
Bill will be sadly missed by me and my family. His laughter, humorous stories, wonderful and warm hospitatlity will be fond memories I will always hold dear.
