Winslow, Philip M.
Henrietta: November 12, 2007, age 96. Born in Rochester to Dr. Floyd Stone Winslow and Catharine MacKay. Pre-deceased by wives Cornelia, Daisy, and Love. Survived by children, Philip, of Massachusetts, Floyd (Susan) of Pittsford, Doe of Florida, Sally Wood (Roy Sowers) of Rochester, two grandchildren Matthew and Elizabeth Winslow. Graduate of Cornell and UR Medical School. Served with Army Medical Corps, 19th General Hospital Unit in WWII. Practiced orthopedics in Rochester until 1972, Associate Professor at UR School of Medicine. Chief of Orthopedics of the Genesee Hospital and County Hospital; Consultant of the Rochester State Hospital, Corning Hospital, and Craig State Hospital. Member American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. Organized and led the Rochester Orthopedic Society, President of County Medical Society, CARE-Medico Physician Volunteer in Afghanistan and Honduras. Inducted in Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame; played professional lacrosse with the Rochester Iroquois. An avid outdoors-man, Phil explored and fished until his death. No service. Contributions may be made to the Atlantic Salmon Federation.
