I am so sorry to hear of Red's passing. I worked with Red for several years at NHS and he was the most amazing person. His knowledge and his compassion were just some of the things I admired most about him. I will always remember our great conversations and his homemade fudge. Even after I left NHS, every year on my birthday he hand delivered me a box of fudge. I always looked forward to the fudge and visiting with Red. Unfortunately I moved out of town in 2003 and have not seen him since. I often thought about him and his love for golf and his passion for doing good deeds. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I was so sorry to learn of your family's double loss this year of Ned and Red and recall them both with warm appreciation for their care and kindness to me, just a young classmate of Robin's. I remember Mr. Gramlich proudly and patiently showing me how the sap was coaxed from the trees and cooked in the sugaring house. Although I moved far away to California, every fall I felt a tug on those memories and an urge to return to the woods where the magic happened. I wonder if he knew how far his sweet and gentle spirit would reach. Please accept my sincere condolences for your losses.

Red Gramlich is at the top of my and my famiy's "most admired" list. He was a model man is so many ways--a wonderfully caring human being and a tireless worker for others, the community, and the entire global human family. His life is a prime example of all that can be achieved in a single life. Red was truly and intensely interested in others and, with Harriet, raised a family equally accomplished and committed to public service and the concern for others. He had enormous energy and his love of life was infectious. In any contact with Red, one felt his keen focus and sincere personal interest in your well-being. His commitment to others was matched by the depth and breadth of his intellect and curiosity. He will be sorely missed but his legacy will continue through his family and those, like me, who were so privileged to be touched and impressed by his life and the size of his heart.

For the entire King family,

Bob Christopher
