Donald Boon Obituary

Boon, Donald R.
Cape Vincent, NY: 81, of East Joseph St., Cape Vincent, died December 5, at Lifetime Care Hospice Home, Rochester. He was born October 16, 1926, in Olean, NY the son of Richard and Charlotte Thompson Boon. Mr. Boon attended Olean Schools but quit to join the US Navy during World War Two in 1943. Mr. Grooms served in the Navy aboard the USS Avlt till his discharge in 1946.
He married Deloris Schunk, May 15, 1948, she died in January 15, 1987. Mr. Boon worked for the NYS D.O.T. in Watertown till retiring in 1992.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter in law, Donald G. Boon, Cape Vincent and Daniel M. and Phyllis Boon, Rochester; three daughters and a son in law, Cherie and Ronald Scofreo, Rochester, Jacklyn Boon, Medina and Donna Lee Boon, Oakfield; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A daughter Mary Louise Roberts died before him.
Calling hours and services will be on Saturday December 8, from 12 - 3 at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent, with the burial at a later date at the convenience of the family in, St. Vincent of Paul Cemetery, Cape Vincent. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cape Vincent American Legion Post 832.

TO ALL THE FAMILY OF DON BOON, MY COUSIN. I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR THE NEWS OF DON'S DEATH. I VISITED ROCHESTER IN AUGUST AND WAS SO GLAD WE COULD GET TOGETHER.I KNEW IT WAS PROBABLY MY LAST TIME TO BE WITH HIM.
