Frederick Jenks Obituary

Jenks, Frederick Edwin
North Rose, NY: Born July 13, 1924 and died December 7, 2007. He is survived by Marilla, wife of 60 years; sister Cynthia Woodard, brother Richard (Eileen); three children: Edwin Seth (Bob), Eleanor Bloom (Edward), Thomas (Jullianna); 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A master carpenter, Fred worked at a wholesale lumberyard and later became certified to teach carpentry at BOCES Wayne Co., New York. He was a veteran of WWII, member of Miner-Young Post and VFW, Lions Club, a Master Mason in Rose Lodge #590, and Consistory of the York Rite of Rochester. He served on the Board of Education, was a volunteer fireman for 58 years, and an active lay church member.
Among his activities, Fred enjoyed music, singing, reading, model railroading, coin collecting, hunting, and playing cards. He was preceded in death by brothers Edwin, Jr., William, and sister Gwendolyn Griswold.
A memorial service will be held at St. George Community Church, St. George, Utah, at 11 am Wednesday, December 12. Interment will be in the Rose Cemetery, New York at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dixie Care and Share or St. George Community.
