I was on the cross country and track teams in the late 50s and early 60s. Ed was always friendly, in good humor, and a pleasure to be around. He played an important part in my life

I always looked forward to talking with Ed about sports, especially on Monday mornings when he would describe his weekend adventures as a college football official. A true gentleman and a pleasure to work with at Harvard.

I worked with Ed for more than 20 years. Ed was the most genuine, honorable, dedicated gentleman I knew at the university. He was also a very good friend.
