Hello Butler Family,
I am Frederik Dissel and worked at Rocky Mountain many years ago. I have great memories of Fred. I was a young teenager in those years and he was always a great influence for good. One of my most vivid memories of Fred is when he talked to me at work and said he wanted to do something nice for my parents. I remember he came over early on a Saturday morning and helped me paint our patio as a surprise for my folks. Fred and my father, Mels, worked together. I also remember my mother, Gonny, who always thought so highly of Sally.
May I express my appreciation for Fred and Sally and make note that I'm sure there are so many others who have fond memories of Fred and his goodness. Please accept my sympathies and well-wishes as you deal with his passing. May heaven shower you with tender healings.

Sally and Family,
My mother told me about Fred's passing. It immediately brought a flood of memories from boyhood years, with Fred as my Scoutmaster and mentor, and Greg as my good friend. Those were cherished, wonderful memories in an otherwise difficult time for our family. I am so sad that I could not attend the funeral or viewing. Please accept my love and appreciation for your valuable friendship early in my life. I loved Fred, and cherish my memories of him as I do those memories of your entire family.
Peace will come, and the good memories will remain. Thankfully we know what we know, as the void left at Fred's death is bridged by the hope of what is to come.

I am so sorry for your loss of your dad, you said to me he was your best friend. Don't be sad you are loved by many!!! I will always be here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on or just a hug. Fred always understood how 'still waters' flow. I respected his strength and resolve and observances. Marci and Keelee, I am so sorry for your loss, but Fred lives on in you and your little ones. Sally, 'adopted big sis', I love you so much and I know you'll be ok. A love like the two of you had is rare these days and I feel privileged to have gone on a portion of this life's journey with you and Fred. Please come and visit us. My dear friend Keelee,
I know you have been through a lot of adversity lately, however this has to be the worse thing that has happened in your life...I can't even imagine losing a parent. I know you and your dad were very close and he will always be with you. As you told me when we talked on the phone, your priority now is to be a great source of support for your mom, but I also hope you remember to be good to yourself during this hard time. I will always be there for you! Don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything!! My deepest sympathies to your family...

When you say the name Fred Butler you immediately think of "A Rock" of a man who knew the true purpose of life. Stalwart in his beliefs and direction in life and a true example to those who sought his guidance, love and understanding. Thank You Sally, Fred and family for what you have meant in my life.

Fred... Always my Hero! Can this be true? From bouncing on your knee those many, many long years ago... to our last "heart-to-heart"... you and Sal, always my "safe place to land!" Dear Butler Family,
We were saddened to hear of Fred's passing. He was our Scoutmaster in the South Cottonwood 6th Ward. We had many great experiences with him. He was a wonderful example for us.
