Dear Eakle family,

I'll miss my big brother. I wanted to come home and give you all a hug at Christmas but a stay in the hospital prevents me from coming for a while. My love to Betty, Alice and Norma and to you all.

JoAnn, I'm so sorry to hear about your father. It's been years, but I remember him as an extremely fun-loving and a very hardworking man. Just from those memories, I believe you have every reason to be proud of him and the life he lived. I know you will make it though this difficult time.

Hang in there.

Alma, what a guy! Whenever I was around him I felt like a million bucks! He was a true friend and I consider it an honor to have known him. I learned to love him as much as I did my Aunt Mary Alice and Uncle Dorus. They were grand people who raised a son anyone would be proud of. Alma was the best "hugger" in the Rodgers family, maybe the entire world?

I actually envy Alma for having the opportunity to spend Christmas with the Savior and his earthly parents. He represented his earthly and heavenly parents so well during his time on earth. God bless all who knew and loved him and have an empty spot in their heart for this wonderful man! Farwell my beloved cousin and friend.

Arlene, we were sorry to hear about your husband's illness and death. We remember learning rhe basics of genealogy research from you back in the 70's. It has been a great help to us since then. We hope you find the comfort you need in this difficult time.

Dear Arlene and family. We just got word concerning Alma. We were not aware of his illness but are sending our deepest sympathy. If we were home we would be there by you to give love and support. We are here in Scotland on a mission and will be until July 2006. Please know of our love and deep respect for Alma. He was a quiet gentle giant and without guile in our eyes. Certainly Heavenly Father loves him and you and will watch over you and the family. We will be thinking of you and praying for you.

Lots of love,
