Dearly beloved Naomi and family,

It is with deep sadness that I send you these condolences. Having had some experience with Gregory's disease, I know how difficult it is to see your loved one living under those tragic conditions. As far as companionship and the return of our love towards them, we are robbed of that for the most part. It was sad for me as I watched Nondus deteriorate; but, it actually was a blessing to me to see her off to her Heavenly Father. I'm certain that you must feel about the same way.

We love both of you; you're wonderful friends. You were most pleasant to live by and to travel with along life's roadway in the 14th Ward. Nondus and I have missed you both these last few years. We had such a fun, loving and satisfying experience being with you and enjoying your friendship. When we came home from our travels we would have you right next door to us at the West Temple Apartments.

I'll never forget the trip to St. George and the consequent little journey to where Greg worked. It was very interesting as you shared stories of your life in that little town. What a great blessing it was for you two.

Thanks to Gregory for all his counsel and suggestions to me as I carried out my church assignment as Bishop of the ward. And then, later on, I had the privilege of seeing Greg fill the role of Bishop in our ward and how he magnified his callings. Thanks a lot, Greg, I'll never forget you.

And to you, Naomi, what a blessing you were in our lives as we left our home in Bountiful and moved into Salt Lake. We were made comfortable by your sweet hospitality and we so enjoyed the treats that you shared with us. You were a great friend to Nondus, and I love you for giving her that wonderful friendship; especially with her having just left her life-long friends, neighbors and church companions. We loved learning more about you and your family as we shared our lives with you.

It was a blessing as we remodeled our lives using you for an icon for Nondus, and Gregory as an icon for me. You've added so much to our lives and we rejoice with you in our knowledge of the reality of sharing eternal life together with our loved ones.

I would have loved to have attended Greg's service and to have told you all this in person, but I am confined to home because of the back surgery I had 5 days ago.

God bless you, Dick Shea and family.
