Words could never describe the reverence we feel for the life of our sweet patriarch, Paul Lloyd. He will be honored forever by his family, friends and missionaries in all parts of the world. He was born Sept 25, 1916 in Salt Lake City to Ezra Timothy and Jennie Hubbard Lloyd. He was sealed to his eternal companion, Gwendolyn Poulson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 30, 1942.
His life was marked by love and service to his God, his family and his country. At a young age he served a faithful LDS mission to Argentina and later he served five additional missions with his sweet wife. He served as president of the Caracas Venezuelan mission as well as president of the Missionary Training Centers in Santiago, Mexico City and London. Missionary work was the passion of his life. His love for the work led the way and, to date has influenced 24 of his children and grandchildren to serve missions, with many more to follow. He served in many church positions but, in his own words, his preferred titles were husband, father, grandfather, and Elder. He and his sweetheart are the parents of eight children; 43 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchil-dren; and children, Judy (Lowell) Anderson, Robert (Carol) Lloyd, Bruce (Joan) Lloyd, Jeannie (Steve) Goalen, Doug (Debbie) Lloyd, Ted (Julie) Lloyd, Laurel (Jeff) Lindley, Tami (Curtis) Cutler. A veteran of World War II, he served his country on active duty in Uruguay and California. Upon completion of his military service he returned to Utah and began a career in education that lasted more than 30 years. He touched lives of students at Springville, Provo, and Timpview High Schools. More recently, he taught seminary throughout Utah County. Services will be 11 a.m. Wed. Nov 13, Oak Hills LDS Fourth Ward Chap-el, 925 E. North Temple, Provo. Friends may call at the church 90 minutes prior to the service, and at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St, Orem 6-8:00 p.m. Tues. Nov 12. Interment, East Lawn Memorial, Provo, UT. Sis. Lloyd, I had the great opportunity to serve in the Venezuela Caracas mission with you and Pres. Lloyd. What a great blessing to have his leadership. I felt like he really knew and loved me for the person I am. My husband and I are actively working at raising our 2 boys in the gospel. We also have the goal of serving as missionaries in later years.
Thanks for being of service to the people of Venezuela. Love,Hermana Kirkman

Dear Sister Lloyd and Family,
I had the honor of serving with you in the Venezuela, Caracas Mission. I'll never forget the smile that greeted me at the airport and was such a comfort to me when I had to leave. I was never in his presence when I didn't feel enriched by his special spirit. People all over the world are grateful for the manner in which he lived and the covenants which he so faithfully kept.
May God continue to bless you and your family always.

Sister Lloyd, Doug, Debbie, and family: Please accept my sincere condolences. President Lloyd was a great leader and a great friend. I had the priviledge of serving as his secretary at the end of his mission to Caracas Venezuela. He was a father figure to me and I greatly respected him. My wife Carolyn and I now have five wonderful children. I am the Varsity Scout Coach in our ward in El Paso, TX. I am an orthopaedic Surgeon in the Army by trade. I owe much of the good start that I got as a young adult to the leadership of President Lloyd.
May Heavenly Father bless you, Shaun Machen
